Cyril Cousein graduated in 2020 at Ghent University in Electromechanical Engineering with main subject Electrical Power Engineering. During his internship at Hydrogenics Europe he worked on a model of the power electronic of the hydrogen generators. For his thesis, he developed a topology for Four-Wire converters to stabilise the midpoint and to mitigate the second-order DC-bus voltage ripple, to allow the use of film capacitors for increased converter lifetime.

He joined the BEST project in 2020 to study the impacts of decentralized or centralized integration of electrofuels in the transmission and distribution networks on the power system dynamics and stability.
