Sara Spanó graduated in 2020 at Politecnico di Milano in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Internal Combustion Engines and Turbomachinery. For her master thesis, she joined the internal combustion engine group at Politecnico di Milano, and she worked on numerical simulations of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system for Diesel engines. The aim of her work has been the investigation of liquid film formation in the system, which is detrimental for the system functioning.
In 2020 she joined the BEST team for a PhD concerning the use of e-fuels in Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition engines. The project includes numerical simulations supported by experimental activities.
