On the 2nd of June 2021, Paolo Thiran and Xavier Rixhon took part in a workshop with PhD students from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Jonas Schnidrig and Xiang Li, about the whole-energy system model, EnergyScope. Conducted by Gauthier Limpens (PhD from UCLouvain) and Tuong-Van Nguyen (Scientist from EPFL), this workshop allowed to share current works and good practices on the model regarding several aspects (e.g. policies, data management & treatment, grid implementation & multi-cells, non-energy demand).
The outcomes of these discussions were then shared with a group of experts composed by Hervé Jeanmart and Francesco Contino, Yasmine Calisesi (Executive Director of EPFL Energy Center), François Maréchal (Adjunct Professor, Head of the Industrial Process and Energy Systems Engineering Group at EPFL) and Stefano Moret (Research Associate at Imperial College London and original developer of EnergyScope).
The workshop ended with future developments of the model and collaborations between the two research groups.
